Let’s talk about it.
The internet can create a lot of negative space around how we see ourselves, especially as girls. There’s always something telling us what we should look like, what we should be doing, where we should be in life, and who we’re supposed to become.
And honestly? I’ve always wanted a little slice of the internet where I could just… be a girl.
Not the responsible adult I constantly portray myself to be.
Not the girl who has everything figured out.
Just a girl.
A girl who wants to have fun, try new things, dream a little bigger, laugh a little louder, and occasionally make a questionable decision because… hello, I have free will!
Somewhere along the way, though, I feel like I lost a little bit of that girl.
I used to have so much spunk. So much life. I had dreams, hobbies, random little interests, and things I genuinely loved doing.
Then life started lifing.
College happened. Work happened. Navigating complicated friendships happened. Growing up happened.
And somewhere in the middle of all of that, I stopped dreaming.
I stopped doing some of the things I loved.
My life slowly became school, work, church… sometimes church ðŸ˜â€¦ and trying to keep up with everything else.
And eventually I had to ask myself:
Girl… when are you actually supposed to LIVE?
Because yes, responsibilities are important. Becoming a better woman is important. Having goals is important.
But I don’t think we’re supposed to spend our entire lives preparing for the next stage of life.
At some point, we have to actually enjoy the life we’re living right now.
So that’s why I’m creating Underratedly Her.
A little corner of the internet where we can talk about girlhood, faith, friendships, growing up, figuring ourselves out, trying new things, romanticizing the little moments, and just having a little fun.
Because sometimes I think we take being a woman way too seriously.
And don’t get me wrong—we have responsibilities.
But we also have free will. 😂
So let’s use it!
Let’s try the hobby we’ve been thinking about.
Let’s wear the outfit.
Let’s take the trip.
Let’s make the Pinterest board.
Let’s have the girls’ night.
Let’s try the recipe.
Let’s start the book.
Let’s laugh until our stomachs hurt.
Let’s dream again.
Let’s become the women God created us to be without forgetting to enjoy being the girls we still are.
Because the good Lord knows…
I need some fun.
And maybe you do too.
So welcome to Underrately Her.
This isn’t just my journal.
It’s hers.
And I hope somewhere in these pages, you find a little piece of yourself too. ♡
