So, you’re having a sad girl day. First of all, I’m sorry, girl. Sometimes, you just need to let yourself feel it. But once you’ve cried, prayed, and replayed the situation 20 times (which I do a lot). Here are a few little things you can do to make the day feel a little less blah.

1. Have a Dance Party by Yourself
Put on your favorite playlist, close your bedroom door, and dance like nobody’s watching—because nobody is! Bonus points for dramatically singing into a hairbrush.
2. Get Yourself a Sweet Treat
Sometimes you need a little treat. Ice cream, cookies, cake, and your favorite Dunkin’ drink. Whatever makes you feel like a tiny bit of serotonin has entered the chat.
3. Bake Something
Make cookies, brownies, banana bread, or cupcakes—something warm and comforting. There’s something therapeutic about making something with your hands and then getting to eat it afterward.
4. Have a Karaoke Night
Pick the songs that match your mood. Sad? Adele. Angry? Beyoncé. Feeling yourself again? Rihanna. Grab your hairbrush microphone and put on a SHOW.
5. Binge-Watch Your Comfort Show
Forget trying to find something new. Rewatch the show you’ve already seen 12 times. You already know the characters, the plot, and exactly what’s going to happen. That’s the point.
6. Take a “Main Character” Walk
Put on headphones, make a cute playlist, and go for a walk. You don’t need to solve your entire life. Just get some fresh air and let your brain breathe.
7. Take the Longest Shower Ever
Light a candle, play music, do your full everything shower, moisturize, put on comfy pajamas, and pretend you’re checking into a five-star hotel.
8. Romanticize Your Room
Clean your sheets. Turn on your fairy lights. Spray your favorite perfume. Put on cozy pajamas. Rearrange your pillows. Make your room feel like somewhere you actually want to be.
9. Have a Little “Girl Talk” With Yourself
Journal. Cry. Pray. Write the angry paragraph you aren’t going to send. Write down what happened and how you’re feeling. Sometimes getting it out of your head helps.
10. Do Something That Makes You Feel Like YOU Again
Paint your nails. Do your hair. Read. Draw. Make a playlist. Work on your blog. Bake. Take pictures. Whatever reminds you that you are still you even when you’re having a bad day.
