The Power of a To-Do List

•

Isn’t it so overrated having responsibilities? Like, why do I have so many things to do? And why does my brain decide that the best way to deal with all of it is to simply… do nothing? Sometimes I have so much on my plate that I don’t even know where to start. I get overwhelmed, my brain starts going 100 miles an hour, and suddenly I’m doing anything and everything except the things I actually need to do. There’s laundry to fold. Emails to answer. Assignments to finish. Errands to run. And somehow, watching three hours of TikTok feels like the most reasonable option. The possibilities for procrastination are truly endless. And honestly? That’s where a good old-fashioned to-do list comes in.

Instead of keeping everything swirling around in your head, write it down. Start with the things that absolutely need to get done first—the things that are your top priority. Then work your way down from there. There’s something so satisfying about seeing a task written down, completing it, and crossing it off. One thing at a time. As you start checking things off your list, that overwhelming feeling slowly starts to fade. Your brain gets a little quieter, you feel a little more in control, and suddenly that giant mountain of responsibilities doesn’t seem quite so impossible. Sometimes you don’t need to do everything at once.

You just need to figure out what needs to be done first.
